In the 20th century, Ontario’s economy was built on the strength of traditional industries: natural resources, manufacturing, farming and food production.

According to the Institute for the Future report "The Next Era of Human/Machine" (IFTF) Partnerships, 85% of the jobs that today’s students will be doing in 2030 haven’t been invented yet.
Not only is a minimum level of technological proficiency critical to securing Ontario's financial prosperity — with STEM jobs more and more in demand every day — it is increasingly important in all parts of daily life in the modern world.
Funding Ontario's Future
The Government of Ontario must work to ensure that all children are prepared to contribute to the economy of the future, no matter where they go to school.
This is why TeachON is calling on the Government of Ontario to create and expand grant opportunities allowing independent schools to access government funding to augment STEM programs in their schools.
Acting Today for Tomorrow
We must act now to ensure that all educational institutions across the province are able to incorporate new technologies into their classrooms so that Ontario's children are well placed to compete in the economy of the future.
